BLACK BUSINESS EDMONTON POSTING POLICY

Welcome to Black Business Edmonton (BBE), a platform dedicated to promoting and supporting Black-owned and diverse-owned businesses in Edmonton and surrounding communities.

To maintain the quality, accuracy, and integrity of our business directory, we have established this Posting Policy outlining the requirements and procedures for submitting and reviewing business listings. Please review this policy before submitting your business to BBE.

1. Listing Submission Guidelines

  • Eligibility: The BBE directory is intended for Black-owned and diverse-owned businesses operating in the Edmonton area or providing products or services to the Edmonton community. Listings that do not meet these criteria may not be accepted.
  • Accuracy: All information provided in your listing, including the business name, contact information, description, website, and social media links, must be accurate and current.
  • Relevance: Listings must align with BBE’s mission of promoting Black-owned and diverse-owned businesses and supporting inclusive economic growth. Content involving hate speech, discrimination, harassment, illegal activity, or other harmful material will not be accepted.
  • Complete Information: Applicants must provide all required information, including a business description, contact information, website or social media links where applicable, and relevant images or logos.
  • Appropriate Content: Images, business descriptions, and promotional materials must be professional, appropriate, and suitable for a public business directory.

2. Review Process

  • Manual Review: All submitted listings will be manually reviewed by the BBE team to confirm that they meet our eligibility requirements and posting guidelines.
  • Approval Timeframe: Please allow up to two business days for your listing to be reviewed. While we aim to process submissions promptly, a thorough review is necessary to maintain the quality and integrity of the directory.
  • Additional Information: BBE may contact applicants to request clarification, verification, or additional information before approving a listing.

3. Approval and Publication

  • Notification: Once your listing has been approved and published on the BBE website, you will receive an email notification.
  • Edits and Updates: To request changes to an existing listing, please contact us at info@blackbusinessedmonton.ca. All updates must continue to comply with this Posting Policy.
  • Publication: Approval of a listing does not constitute an endorsement, certification, or guarantee by BBE regarding the business, its products, or its services.

4. Rejection of Listings

  • Reasons for Rejection: A listing may be rejected if it does not meet BBE’s eligibility requirements, contains inaccurate or incomplete information, includes inappropriate content, or does not comply with this Posting Policy.
  • Notification: When possible, applicants will receive an email explaining the reason their listing was not approved.
  • Resubmission: Applicants may correct the identified issues and resubmit their listing for review. Resubmission does not guarantee approval.

5. Removal or Suspension of Listings

  • Outdated or Inaccurate Information: Listings containing outdated, misleading, or inaccurate information may be suspended or removed.
  • Non-Compliance: BBE reserves the right to reject, suspend, edit, or remove any listing that violates this Posting Policy, misrepresents the business, engages in fraudulent or unlawful activity, or may harm BBE, its members, or the wider community.
  • Business Closure: Listings may be removed if a business is no longer operating or cannot be verified.
  • Removal Without Notice: Where necessary to protect the directory or the community, BBE may remove a listing without prior notice.

6. Reporting a Listing

If you believe a listing violates this Posting Policy, contains inaccurate information, or presents a concern to the community, please report it to the BBE team using the contact information available on our website.

BBE will review reported concerns and take appropriate action where necessary.

7. Acceptance of This Policy

By submitting a business listing to the Black Business Edmonton website, you confirm that the information provided is accurate and that you agree to comply with this Posting Policy.

Black Business Edmonton reserves the right to update this policy as needed to protect the quality, integrity, and purpose of its directory.
